Felix Volosenkov

Biography

Felix Volosenkov was born in the city of Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk Oblast, in 1944. He graduated from the Baku Art School. After that, he studied as a production designer major at the Leningrad State Institute of Music, Theater, and Cinematography.

Felix Volosenkov is the President of the St. Petersburg Academy of Contemporary Art of the Immortal, a Member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists of Russia, a Member of the Board of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists of Russia, a Member of the Union of Artists of Italy, a participant and prize-winner of several International Biennales of Fine Arts, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.




Volosenkov's paintings are characterized by the use of mixed techniques, giving the works texture through the use of fabric, foam rubber, gesso, etc. The constant character of Volosenkov's works is the god Volos, an ancient Slavic deity. The majority of the master's works are interpreted as the appearance of Volos through landscape, still life, various scenes, and plots.

Currently, Felix Volosenkov lives and works in St. Petersburg.
